Behind Beast Breakers is a team of young, yet veteran indie talent. That team includes Myriame, a producer for Celeste, Kezrek Laczin, concept artist for Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls, Akash Thakkar, sound designer for Hyper Light Drifter, and composer Big Giant Circles, whose past work has been featured in Borderlands 2, Threes!, and Mass Effect 2. Suffice to say, it’s a team with a lot of promise the potential to make Beast Breaker something special.

To start off, Vodeo’s release just a short trailer interesting Vodeo’s code gameplay. The mouse Skipper can be imagined as the pinball, while the enemy beasts can be seen as the pinball machined or the wall of breakable bars in Breakout. Players will aim Skipper so that they can bounce within the beast’s parts and appendages, removing bits of its armor, and dealing damage. It also hints at deeper elements of gameplay, like increasing Skipper’s attack damage.
Needless to say, Vodeo Games’ first project Beast Breakers seems like a fun and fanciful experience that takes a classic style of gameplay and evolves it into something new. Expect to hear more about Beast Breakers and Vodeo Games in the months to come, as it prepares for a summer launch.
