Woods was notably absent from a handful of PGA Tour events in 2020, though many of the most popular events, like the Masters and the U.S. Open, have been canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, anyway.

It’s very possible Woods has just been waiting out the virus in self-quarantine, like so many people around the world. But there is a paper trail—or yacht trail, if you will—of exactly what Woods has been up to since he last appeared on the professional circuit. Here’s what we know:

His Most Recent Golfing Appearance

Woods most recently played at the Genesis Open, which took place at the Riviera Country Club between February 13 and 16. It wasn’t his best game, according to the PGA website. He finished the tournament with a +11 par, ranking him the last player to make the tournament cut.

Many events that were supposed to take place soon after in March, like the Players, were canceled.

His Boating Trip

Despite Woods not really being seen on the course after the Genesis Open, fans have been kept abreast of some of the golfing great’s movements. Barstool podcast host Riggs (whose real name is Sam Bozoian) has kept his followers up to date with Woods’ adventures via Twitter.

In June, Riggs revealed that the pro golfer was cruising on his yacht throughout the month, which seemed to imply he might make an appearance at East Coast tournaments. Riggs posted several screenshots of where Woods’ yacht was with data from the app MarineTraffic.

Woods apparently began his yacht tour in Florida and sailed North. Several publications, including Golf, tried to guess which event he’d surface at next.

Based on Riggs’ predictions and tracking, some thought Woods may make an appearance at the RBC Heritage, a PGA Tour stop in Hilton Head, South Carolina. He didn’t show up to the tournament, though, which was played between June 18 and 21.

Others claimed that they saw Woods and his yacht in real life. One fan responded to Riggs with a photo of what they alleged was the golfer’s yacht docked in Georgia.

A video of Woods golfing with his son, Charlie, surfaced right after as well. A bystander took a video of Woods and his son at the Frederica Golf Club in Georgia around June 23. You can watch it here:

The Memorial Tournament

The Memorial Tournament is expected to take place between July 16 and 19 at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. No in-person attendance will be allowed due to covid-19 restrictions.

Woods announced his return to the tour on Thursday, too. In a tweet, he noted his excitement for the upcoming Memorial Tournament.

Newsweek reached out to Woods via email about the Memorial Tournament and his brief time off but didn’t hear back in time for publication.
